We have been busy behind the scenes for the last 9 months working on a new platform.  It has been built from scratch and designed using all our experience gained form the last 5 years of providing websites and online tools for independent pharmacies and exhaustive research and discussions with pharmacists on what they need and like so we can offer customers something light years ahead of anything else on the market while maintaining our position as the most competitively priced. ... It's not just fantastic website design and functionality for incredible cost we provide, oh no!   We like to come up with great offers for our members that fit in with our aim of helping independent pharmacists in the increasingly competitive commercial world and bringing the sector together to benefit from strength in numbers.  We have a special CPPQ offering already and have now just secured a great deal on flu vaccines in time for the season, so stock up now.  Delive... Or put another way, growing realisation of the threat.  Something we have been warning of for years.  We posted this in the comments section of C & D's article http://www.chemistanddruggist.co.uk/news-content/-/article_display_list/18342213/concern-raised-over-potential-gp-stake-in-online-repeats-service?cid=ENL-CDNEW-DAILYB We believe the pharmacy sector will undergo rapid and significant change as it becomes digitised.  Although really we could (possibly should) be mo... Not sure if you saw a recent article in Chemist & Druggist entitled 'Pharmacists fear online competiton' but in a poll conducted by C & D over 50% of readers believed internet pharmacy was 'a substantial threat' to their business. There were quite a few comments left in the comments section but amonst them was a reply by the Pharmacy Centre which I think is worth highlighting and sharing as not only is it a comprehensive and well-thought out piece (well we would say that :)) it reflec... It’s the beginning of the year and traditionally a time when businesses consider their plans and aims for the year ahead.  Part of that process may (or should) include getting a proper pharmacy website that can actually help drive the business forward. You may have been putting it off as don’t see it as important?  That is probably true if your website is static and just provides a way of customers finding out your contact details   You may think your ... Like it or not EPS2 is here and here to saty. It is rolling out across the country and the roll out is gathering pace.  This opens up the oppotunity to others to target online prescriptions and unfortunately there is every chance it could develop into one giant bun fight.   Are you ready?  Plenty of others are, including some well-resourced companies, who are after your scripts.  We saw Walgreens (the biggest pharmacy chain in the US) buy Alliance Boots last year a... Noone likes a show off and we usually keep it low-key and understated but there are times when we should blow our own trumpet as anyone looking around for a pharmacy website needs some reassurance before committing money.  We've had some good comments in the last week or two that may be worth sharing as we don't usually print them.  Here's a selection: -     Tue 10/09/2013 08:36 Good morning,   I hope that you're both well.  Fi... We'll be at the Pharmacy Show (on Sunday only) again this year to see old friends and clients and meet some new ones (hopefully).  We don't take a stand as the prices we charge could never justify the cost and most people in pharmacy know of us and our reputation is spreading.  We will be circulating though and spend some time around the NRS Healthcare stand at some point so say hello.  We know a few other website and app offerings are there so make sure you compare our website... There has been some coverage of script directing recently and it's nothing new as far as we are concerned.  We heard anecdotally of this this years back and this has increased recently.  Pharmacy2u has been critisied again recently in articles like this... Read more...

Without wanting to blow our own trumpet (there our others that will occasionally do that for us) today has reminded us yet again of the many companies out there happy to take your money for a pharmacy website but not deliver what you paid for.   We had a pharmacists in tears on the phone while telling us they are in a 3 year contract costing £50 per week and there was nothing they could do.  She hadn't been able to get hold of anyone on the phone for weeks and emails ha... We have found the best way to see what our websites can do and how they may help an independent pharmacy's business is to have an online demo so we are increasingly doing this and the reaction has been gret.  We are doing about 8 - 10 a week now as demand has been so strong and because of this and the busy nature of many pharmacists lives we are doing many in the evenings or weekends.   The beauty of providing an online demo is not just to show how advanced the sites are... We speak to pharmacists all day and every day (and evenings too) and always listen to comments and suggestions and discuss the difficulties independents face whether customers or not.  That is why we are always developing new solutions and improving what we already offer which is way beyond anything else on the market.   One common issue is legal advice, from employment law to standard operating procedures.  Where can you go when you need some crucial advice about a... Well the New Year is nearly upon us - just a few hours away.  Do you bother with resolutions?  Maybe not but I bet you make some committments to yourself about your business and what you would like to do and achieve.  A website should be part of that.  Even if thinking of selling your business this year, if you have a professional website with customers starting to register, use it and order through it you are a more attractive proposition.  If you have a significant ... We have been surprised, very surprised.  Have spoken to many pharmacists who say 'my customers are too old to be online and certainly won't use a website'! Well we have never accepted that as we know it's not true and often quote the latest research from the Office of National Statistics this year - see table at the bottom. The over 50's represent the fastest growing group adopting broadband and the %age of over 50's, 60's and even 75+ may surprise you?   ... Read more...

There are certain basic principles of website design that need to be considered so a good place to start is with a design template.  You can, of course, have a bespoke design if you require something unique and exactly to your requirements for example custom design.  However, in nearly every instance one of the templates is perfect - by the time colours, logos, pictures and chan...
